IIt's been a busy few months, so we haven't had much time for updates, so here's a bit of what's been going on.

Walking around the various stops of the Dew Tour this summer, we found a slew of Jared Souney photos on posters and promotions around the venue. Here are a few samples including autograph posters from Right Guard, Panasonic, Master Card, and Maxxis Tires.

Sophisticated Rider Magazine #6 is finished. For more on that you can visit sophride.com. The magazine is art directed by Souney Media, and a large portion of the photos are shot by Jared Souney. You can check out the cover to the left. This issue should be available in the next week or so.

Another project we've just finished are two 40-page four color brochures for Woodward camp. The deadline for these managed to fall right on top of Sophisticated Rider #6, but we got it all done!

Now we're on to Sophisticated Rider #7, the biggest issue yet, as well as working on web site for one of the top BMX riders in the world, Jamie Bestwick.

Right Guard Extreme just came out with some new promotional deodorant packaging that uses some of Jared Souney's photos of Kevin Robinson. The promotional two-packs are available only at Target. Photos were also used on POP for the promotion including end-cap displays. There are two different packages with Kevin on them, both shot by Jared. Click here to check those out.

The 5th issue of Sophisticated Rider Magazine is ready for the printers, who happen to be on vacation for the Fourth of July week. Once they're back, printing will begin. We'll post the cover up here soon.

In addition we've been working on some new design projects with Woodward. Recently we custom silk-screened some Panasonic logos on motocross seats for "Twitch" Stenberg's FMX bike this year. Also Jared just shot some photographs of freestyle motocross rider "Cowboy" Kenny Bartram and Kevin Robinson for Panasonic autograph cards that they'll be signing at this years Dew Action Sports Tour.

Jared Souney's photography was nominated for two International Color Awards this year: One in the [Professional] Advertising category and one in the [Professional] Sports category. The nominees and winners will be shown in an exhibit on the awards' web site starting sometime this month, as well as in various sourcebooks and publications. There is some really good work this year, so it's worth checking out. Since the exhibit isn't up yet, you can check out all the nominees and winners by clicking here for the Awards Ceremony Program The awards were held live online for photographers and industry around the globe. Jared's work is shown amongst the nominees in Professional Advertising and Sports. Nominees were chosen by a prestigious group of Art Buyers, Gallery Curators, Art Directors, Publishers and Editors.

Sophisticated Rider #4 came back from the printer last week. In addition we redesigned the magazine web site to coincide with the new issue's release. The cover is to the left (top) and features Kevin Robinson.

In addition we've been working on some design projects for Woodward Camp (print ads, postcards, t-shirts etc.) which should start showing up soon.

We're off and running designing issue number four of Sophisticated Rider Magazine, which will be out mid-April. Some recent photoshoots include work for Right Guard and Rockstar, as well as various editorial. Be sure to check out the April 2006 issue of BMX Plus Magazine for a Jared Souney photo on the cover.

Happy New Year. Sophisticated Rider Issue #3 is on press now, with a re-design for 2006. Check the cover preview to the left. I'll post a larger version when the issue comes out, as I don't want to give everything away. Also, I've given this site a little bit of a face lift for the new year as well. JaredSouney.com was also redesigned not to long ago, and includes a new series of portraits of action sports folks.

Launched the beginnings of a new side project this week, designed to be a resource for agencies and publications looking to find images and content relating to action sports. It's called Action Sports Press.

Also, for the heck of it the URL's bmxphotography.com, statecollegephotography.com, and statecollegedesign.com all now point to this site.

A nod to what we would consider one of the most important magazine covers (design-wise) of the '90s, a Blue Magazine cover by David Carson.
